Kearney & Trecker This is the second CNC retrofit for this Kearney & Trecker. We replaced the PC-based control with a Dynapath Delta 2000 CNC. The previous retrofitter could not make the B axis work correctly. A white paper was even written about the old controller, touting it as the future of CNC. It proved to be unreliable and resulted in the customer coming to us for a solution. We gave it to them in the form of a Dynapath Delta 2000 cnc retrofit with Yaskawa servo drives. The machine has a pallet changer, rotary table, tool changer and Heidenhain linear scales.

Centroid retrofit of Italian stone cutting router First is a picture of the operator control station with the new Centroid remote pendant. The machine is 14 ft. long. Hence, the need for bringing controls along the length of the machine. Second is the inside of the electrical cabinet / operator station. This is an "all in one Centroid". As a result, we were able to remove the italian drives and run the servo motors direct from the Centroid. In other words, we replaced the controller and the servo drives with one unit. Very Neat! Third picture is of the machine base. The bridge is driven by one motor and a drive shaft spanning the bridge risers.

Nomura horizontal boring mill with Dynapath CNC Control Retrofit First is a picture of the operator control station with the Dynapath Delta 2000 operator control station and remote MPG hand pendant. Second is the inside of the electrical cabinet. The control cabinet is to the left in a smaller cabinet. Inside the main electrical cabinet are the 5 axes of servo drives by Yaskawa, the Bardac spindle drive and the machine interface components. Third picture is of a similar machine base. Our retrofitted machine is a 4 axes CNC horizontal boring mill with a rotary table driven by one of the Yaskawa drives, controlled by the PLC.

Giddings & Lewis PC50 CNC boring mill This is a cnc retrofit of a Giddings and Lewis horizontal boring mill. It is also the first of two cnc retrofits for the same customer. We replaced the old 800 control with a Dynapath Delta 2000 CNC and an Allen Bradley Powerflex DC spindle drive. We kept the inductosyn scales by installing new inductosyn to digital converters. Shown, also, is the electrical panel of this G & L PC50 horizontal boring mill. The Dynapath Delta 2000 is mounted where the old triac board racks were once located. You see to the right of the Dynapath, the inductosyn to digital converters and below the slim line relays interfacing the starters and solenoids and the I/O terminal strips. The old control cabinet was retired. The Powerflex DC drive was mounted in the rear cabinet.

Giddings & Lewis HBM PC50 4 inch bar This is a CNC retrofit of a Giddings and Lewis boring mill. It is also the second cnc retrofit for the same customer. We performed a cnc upgrade of the old Dynapath 20M to a Dynapath Delta 2000. We replaced the operator pendant ,re-wrote the plc program for the new operator panel and converted the old parameter file to the new required format.
